MEET THE COACHES
Maria Morin
Waves Softball Director
Maria Morin was Rhode Island College's head softball coach for 18 years after concluding an outstanding undergraduate career as a pitcher at Skidmore. She built RIC's softball program from the ground up, leading Anchorwomen to five consecutive Little East Conference Regular Season Championships, four straight Little East Tournament Championships, and two College World Series Appearances. She now continues to share her passion for the sport as the Director of the Waves Softball competitive travel organization.
Laura DeNoncour
18u Head Coach

Laura DeNoncour was a 1B/DP at RI College and was coached by Maria Morin. During her years on the team the Anchorwomen were the Little East Conference Champions in 2008 and 2009, appeared in three Regional Tournaments in 2008, 2009, and 2011, and went to the NCAA National Championship in 2008. Laura has coached Waves teams at the 12u, 14u, and 16u levels prior to moving up to 18u. She enjoys sharing her love and passion for the sport with a new generation of players.

Emily Johnson
18u Showcase Head Coach
Emily Johnson was a P /1B for Rhode Island College under Maria Morin. She was Named First Team All-Little East Conference as a designated player in 2011 and got MVP for the anchorwomen her senior year. She now is going on her 6th season as a Waves Head Coach. Emily is also the owner of The Backstop Softball Training facility where she gives private and group lessons. As the head 18u Showcase
coach, Emily's focus is to get her players to be college ready.
